PTT Football Volleyball Tournament Explosion: Selecting National Team Athletes, Aiming to Bring in Ronaldinho to Promote
Pol. Maj. Gen. Dr. Narasak Hemnithi, President of the Thailand Footvolley Association, presided over the press conference for the 2024 Thailand Footvolley Championship, attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Weerasak Wisalaphon, Vice President of the Association, Mr. Somkiat Sungsathitanon, Vice President of the Association, Dr. Thanapol Sukwesko, Registrar of the Association, and Dr. Sarawut Disyawatthana, Public Relations of the Association, at the Rod Pho Thong Room, National Stadium, Pathumwan, Bangkok on September 10.
Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Narasak Hemnithi said that even though the preparation time for this competition was quite tight, we had a good team, which made us prepare the best. The competition was organized in accordance with the government’s policy during September 13-15, 2024 at the Ramkhamhaeng University Beach Stadium to promote footvolley, develop the potential of athletes, coaches, and referees of footvolleyball to international standards of sports excellence.
We would like to thank the sponsors, including the Department of Physical Education, the National Sports Development Fund, the Sports Authority of Thailand, the Department of Physical Education, Thai Football Factory Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., and Singha Drinking Water. We sincerely hope that this competition will be successful as planned.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Weerasak Wisalaphon said that this competition is a stage for creating athletes, which the association has experience and is determined to push to the international stage. This time, it will expand the athlete base and will use this competition to select athletes for the national team to participate in international events. After this, we will continue to create female and mixed teams, as Thai athletes have an advantage in playing footvolleyball because they have skills in takraw and football. The association plans to bring Ronaldinho, a former Brazilian superstar, to Thailand to help promote footvolleyball and inspire in the future.
In addition, we plan to build a base in the region to select white elephant athletes and will create networks with provincial sports associations, including creating more matches, pushing for inclusion in the National Student Games, National Sports School Games, National University Games, including the National Youth Games and future National Games to provide a platform for athletes to have the opportunity to compete.
For the 2024 Thailand Futsal Championship, it is divided into 3 categories: Youth, University, and General Public, Men’s Team category, with a total of 38 teams participating in the competition.
